I thought the term "fascists" as we are taught today in news items and in demonstrations had its origins during the Thatcher period; all the policemen and government were called "fascist pigs" and anything to do with authoritarianism and forces upon the masses to extort them social financial support, deprive them of work, social benefits, etc. came to be "fascist". Remember rick Mayal in the Young Ones..the Punk scene..
