  1. Alright. I would not ask you to watch the remake. But what do you think about Arabic depictions in Sofia the First? My daughter really likes the show and I decided to go back and check the episodes that focused on 'Tangu'; the show has its own world that has many analogous kingdoms and nations, Tangu I believe is intended to depict Iraq or Saudi Arabia... but clearly it's supposed to make you think of Agrabah. There are things I notice that were attempts to do better- the architecture and dress seem more consistent, there are depictions of bodies of water near places people live and there are many more plants and gardens that can be seen in the cities. It's not without glaring problems- there seems to be some obsession with elephants... which makes me think they are shoving India in. Which is frustrating because I believe there is a different Kingdom that is intended to be influenced by India. I think that's more interesting ground to discuss than the remake.
