  1. Hot take: bail is rarely justified. I don't think this person is a risk to the community but it's possible he might be a flight risk if fellow rioters or such assist him.... but I'm not too concerned with this. IF this person is not being charged with a violent crime I think the leftist position should be that recognizance is acceptable. There's no reason to think he'll skip court because most people don't because people don't like having warrants out for them. Second hot take: an impoverished person who went to the insurrection is the least concern to me. A person with limited financial means also has the least perspective on how much of a farce this all was. If we are to believe that Trump did direct these people their actions do have more justification. This is not to say this person is innocent but certainly it is a mitigating factor.
