I was trying to make buttermilk rolls and I forgot that I added dairy, because usually my breads are water based so when I took it out of the proofing case it was green and now I’m sad. So I ordered ye olde pizza. Also, I rarely say “ewww” to food, don’t tell me they loved turnips back then… no one likes turnips. Lol.

I have a silly question I didn’t think about until now.. What would you do during summer when you don’t need a fireplace going all day? Would early Americans still cook all their (3?) meals on a fire? Were there actually 3 meals? Also, does anyone know? We’re all women cooking? Did all families have a mother that cooked and cleaned and a dad who worked? Or were there broken dailies who starved? Were there poor houses? Coming from a home where my mom never cooked, I wish she did..
