  1. Probably because water prompts you to poop and a baby would.. 😂🤣 Pretty sure leaving the baby to bathe last helped the baby’s immune systems to develop. Infant mortality and disease in general were more about having clean water to drink and the vaccines that were introduced (which was actually proven in court several times over). You would boil the bath water, so the mortality wasn’t about the bath water. Also, the leading cause of death in women who gave birth was the doctors!!! They didn’t wash their hands between dissecting corpses and moving from woman to to woman. There was a doctor named Ignasz Semmelweis who toured the world begging them to wash their hands because his women weren’t dying at all, and they laughed at him, ended his career and made him kill himself on a mental institution. Just like with COVID19, “the science” was more “the politics of the many”.
