Her story reminds me of when I waitressed in my 20s.
There was this semi-regular client at the restaurant, it wasn’t hard to guess her profession.
She would always come in with different men, sometimes one, sometimes plural, and with her toddler girl.
They would always order a ton of expensive food and alcohol, and sometimes they would sit there until after midnight (I was dying to go home and get some sleep, so imagine her little girl…of no more than 3).
The girl would wander all over and I was terrified that she might wander into the street or into the road, while her sorry excuse for a mom would get drunk.
I remember feeling so helpless to help that girl and I asked my coworkers and my boss what to do because I wanted to do something but I had no idea what.. I almost called the police but I didn’t know what I would tell them..
One time, this b*tch came in with a guy who was clearly mentally retarded, like, he stuttered, and couldn’t complete a sentence and smelled of heavy sweat.. and she started ordering all the expensive food, while her kid played n the street and my heart kept missing beats.. and in the end it turned out he was like “rain man”, and had no idea what her profession actually was, he thought she was his friend.. she left him with the bill and he just sat there not knowing what to do until my boss took pity over him and let him go without paying.. and these people stayed with me.. it’s been 15 years now and every time I remember that I keep wondering why even then police wasn’t called.. like.. at least he could have given them her phone number or something so they could remove her poor daughter from that sorry excuse of a mom… I still wonder what happened to this little girl and every time I hear stories like Maria’s my heart just cries…
Many times they comment under my comments telling me I’m a bad person for judging these moms, but I don’t care… they’re a sorry excuse for a human being and I have never wanted to use the term “birthing person” more about them in my life. Because those monsters are anything but mothers to these poor kids and they deserve to rot in hell.

Every single time with these people:
“My mom abused me so I’m now a homeless addict”
Where’s your daughter now?
“With my mom”.
And bonus points:
“My mom is jealous of me so she’s keeping me from my daughter”
“And we were supposed to meet but I didn’t even call her on her birthday”.
What a pathetic, useless victim.
Everything is done to her, she’s always innocent…
“I felt singled out because it was all white people”.
Umm, no,
You feel singled out because you couldn’t solve the problem on the board, because you didn’t study, for whatever reason.
How did a black girl end up being the only black girl in her class? This is probably where it began, they made her a case for affirmative action, but instead of studying, she felt like she was being singled-out for her race and never asked for help studying because she was too lazy.
That’s the entire problem.
And don’t get me wrong, I think most public schools are a living hell, I dropped out myself, but in this case - it was all her crying victim, this time “because she’s black”. It’s really pathetic that with her life, she finds even her skin color something to cry victim over.
That’s why she ended up where she is,
A useless person on the streets, leaving her daughter with her abuser.
Pathetic!
