I’m on opioids for pain, never even smoked weed before that and I only took the prescription because I was in so much pain that I couldn’t think straight anymore (endometriosis - severe chronic illness, more painful than cancer, I would know..). I assume that if hard drugs were given out to people with severe PTSD (like child molestation victims), people would lie to get them and there would be the same crisis as there is with opioids, but honestly, it’s so tempting for me to go:”screw it, let her use any drug that makes her forget that memory and get some rest from the PTSD…” You know what I mean…?

  3. I don’t believe anyone does this by choice!!! I don’t believe in “rights for sex workers”, I believe in ending it and not indicting them, while indicting the johns. There isn’t a single woman or man in prostitution who wasn’t raped and abused first. No one deserves to live like that. Not these women, not their kids.. and they need to get help until they stop needing to prostitute themselves.

My mom raised me as a single mom by cleaning houses, despite having a university education, but we came to Israel from soviet Russia, and my mom wasn’t going to wait for someone to give her money so she cleaned houses. Then again, she was extremely depressed her entire life, and her abuse has damaged my soul in ways I still don’t fully comprehend. So she was able to delay her gratification to raise me, but I don’t know if it was worth it, because she made me a complete emotional wreck and my body gave out. I didn’t mind having nothing, I minded feeling like I’m less and like I am nothing…

Here’s the thing, I know most of these people have some sob-story, they were raped, molested as kids, abandoned… but the bottom line is: no one wants to raise their kids in that environment and they don’t belong there. If you want to talk about human rights - safety to walk down the street is very basic. The people who buy their homes there have also been through rough lives, but they pulled themselves up by their bootstraps. And they don’t deserve to be imprisoned in their own homes.

Yes, the withdrawal is a b*tch and I don’t take it for emotional crap, but the thing is, that you can drag yourself to therapy until you no longer need to escape into that high. It’s worth it for your kid… I don’t mean to sound judgmental, I just truly can’t get it through my head. I’ve been through some crazy sh*t myself… abused, neglected.. recently lost my lifelong career while battling cancer after I just defeated endometriosis (a very painful condition with crazy fatigue).. if I had a kid, I’d drop everything for them…

Why is it that only people in the first world feel shame or sadness for taking a life? Has anyone from the viet-Kong ever expressed feeling sorry for their enemy?
