I was just watching a documentary about the super-morbidly-obese people. And the same problem came to my mind:
If they’re so fat that they’re unable to get up, someone needs to enable them by bringing their food over to them and cleaning up after them.
And with children, yes, it’s not easy to deny your child food when they’re crying and screaming and refusing to eat anything else, but the fact is that without you paying for that food and physically bringing it into the home, and sometimes even heating it up for them - they wouldn’t have access to this food.
When I was bedridden for two months after a back injury, I lost so much weight because I live alone and I had to prepare all the food I needed to eat. No one enabled me, and I had the choice to eat anything I liked, and I still lost too much weight because the effort of getting up and feeding myself, even washing a piece of vegetable or fruit was so hard and painful that I didn’t eat much at all.
So no matter how you look at it, the hand that brings them the food and the wallet that pays for that food is always to blame.
