  1. Sorry for all the comments, but have you ever seen Ruth Goodman make ice cream the old way, using “arctic” ice to “sell to tourists” (as a recreation of history)? It’s somewhere on absolute history’s YouTube.

  4. Honestly, I don’t understand why she added all that stuff and the coloring. I would have loved a plain cucumber sorbet. I don’t even need any sugar if that’s what the recipe calls for. Just iced cucumber and maybe some salt and lemon.

I understand why YOU would use green food coloring to recreate HER original recipe, but honestly, I’d use the recipe for Limonana (iced-lemon-mint drink popular in the Middle East) and just experiment with adding the cucumber and experiment using different green herbs for the color. Why did she really need a green food coloring in the first place? That’s what I find weird. (Then again, your mashed cucumbers looked beautifully green and you added an overkill amount of food coloring that wasn’t even the same green…).
