It was said by Emma Goldman, and the actual quote is " If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal " ... https://www.brainyquote.com/search_results?q=if+voting+really+made+any+difference ... and secondly, I've always found that attitude to be very defeatist. Voting is the only say you really have in Government, so use it wisely, use it often. If you don't use it, you might lose it !

@rosecarney4111 It ISN'T about Religion. The Government is " By the People, For the People " and the First Amendment to the US Constitution clearly states ... " ... that Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. It protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. " ... it does NOT state that " we are in error now " ... This dude is explaining the system as it really works, not as a Christian Fundamentalist - (like you, obviously) - wishes it worked !

... I took an elective High school course in " World Religion " in 1970, in the Canadian Public School System. It was a good class and eye opening. It was taught in an open and non-biased fashion and, far from damaging me in any way, I think it did me a great deal of good.
