As a Canadian from OUTSIDE Quebec, I couldn't care less about the British Monarchy or swearing allegiance to them ... having said that, let us keep in mind that the Bloc Québécois is a Separatist party. In 1993, Quebec held a Referendum on Sovereignty and Canada came close to a split. One of the big sticking points had to do with Quebec continuing to use the Canadian Dollar ... funny kind of divorce that ... staying friends with benefits.
