The Romans had to satisfy the Jewish majority - (since Rome had very little military presence in the middle east at that time) - or Rome would have had to side with the lesser numbers of the Pagans, who opposed the Jews. The Romans gave the Jews a choice between Jesus and a common thief. The Jewish leadership resented Jesus and the power they thought he was trying to obtain, and so, opted to free the thief and crucify the young Jesus in his stead ... that's the story, Mornin' Glory !

It is not substantively different than Judaeo-Christian Creation story, in any way that I can see, and it tells me no more than that does. Moreover, it explains nothing about the Israeli-Jordanian clash, nor does it prove the imminent battle between Good and Evil ... Sorry brother, but this explains nothing ...

  10.  @kirkp-ko8hk  I realize that Muhammad was the Prophet and not the Author, but you do not understand my basic problem with - not only Islam - but Judaism & Christianity as well: I am a nonbeliever - not only of the Abrahamic faiths, but of all Supernatural phenomenon. I do not believe in souls (although I do agree that we all have individual traits of personality that make each of us unique - one can see this simply by using eye-contact - that reveals what we are ... of course, interpreting that is not always easy) and I don't believe in your Night flight to Heaven on a Winged horse, nor the resurrection of the Christ. Nor was I impressed by Moses' burning bush. ALL of these things are apocryphal, and intended to make a specific point, much like George Washington's Cherry Tree story. I don't take any of them as literal. I believe in the Sciences (much of which started in the Middle East) ... Astronomy & Mathematics, for example - things that can be proven by repeated observation and experiment. I DON'T put faith in the Supernatural at all. Once again, my friend, you seem to be a good person, so I have no argument with you - only your beliefs - and because I am a peaceful sort, I HONESTLY wish you only the very best. Let us part as friends, and agree to disagree ... ☪🕊☮

I don't believe ANYTHING without at least SOME proof. To me " GOD " is just another example of the Hundreds of " gods " that have been claimed worldwide and throughout History. AND if you wish me to read the passage from the Holy Quran that you are eluding to, I'm afraid you'll have to QUOTE it ... I don't own a copy, and besides, According to many sources, the only form of the book that can be trusted is the original text in the original UNTRANSLATED Arabic ... I do look forward to you quoting the passage, however. I don't expect it to convince me of anything, but I AM curious.

  37.  @kirkp-ko8hk  No. I've already explained to you that I have seen nothing in my whole life that compels me to accept the Supernatural. The term " Entity " implies a being. After that, it's just a short walk to " GOD " isn't it. I happen to believe in the physical Sciences - including Evolution. Evolution is a word generally attributed to Biology - which IS correct, but it can be applied to anything that develops over time; Life (animal & plant), Space (the Universe as a whole, and the Solar System that we are a part of, as life on Earth, etc. - And I DON"T believe that any of these things were made by a Creator, not the Muslim's Allah, or the Christian's Jehovah, or the Jew's Yahweh - nor any OTHER God.

In fact, this is a perfect opportunity for me to express WHY I prefer Science to Theology; the practitioners of the Sciences will ALWAYS admit that there are HUGE gaps in their knowledge, and that they will NEVER know everything. Theology - regardless of the specific faith - THINKS it already has all the answers, and those answers are NEVER truly satisfying, unless they are what you had already decided that it was what you WANTED to hear in the first place ...

Alexander the Great was one of the most successful military campaigners in ancient History, and he followed the Ancient Greek Faith, not Judaism. The Mongols (hardly Jews) were the great devastators of Europe. The Mighty Roman Empire were not adherents of Judaism, and when they DID convert to an Abrahamic faith, it was Christianity, not Judaism. The Point here is that wars have been won and lost by every group in human history, and despite ALL of them claiming that This or that " God " was behind them - none would have EVER been able to prove that - or that " God's " existence ...

  41.  @kirkp-ko8hk  Kirk ... If you are looking for a convert, it ISN'T happening. I am an Atheist for a reason, - I WAS an Agnostic for many years ... a questioner, in other words. As such, I read a lot about theological matters, ranging from the Bible through many of the Eastern Faiths, from India through China and even a lot of the ancient stuff from the Greeks and Romans. I even checked out some of the earlier British and European Pagan stuff - just to fill out the bill. NONE of it passes the test for me - which is logic and rationality. I KNOW how to utilize my time, I always have. This is WHY I believe the things I do, and it is why I reject those things which make promises that require blind faith ... and THAT is a waste of my time.
