Piers Morgan makes no great leaps of logic here : not only does he immediately sink into the standard muck of trying to equate the " received wisdom " of religion with the hard won reward of earned knowledge that is science, but he then goes on to admit his total belief in not only the Christian God, but the very specific God of Catholicism ...
I believe in Bertrand Russell's teapot, personally. Some philosophical comments have argued that Russell's parody does not stand up to their particular analysis : " Philosopher Brian Garvey argues that the teapot analogy fails with regard to religion because, with the teapot, the believer and non-believer are simply disagreeing about one item in the universe and may hold in common all other beliefs about the universe, which is not true of an atheist and a theist " but so what ? ... Parody IS only parody, after all, and many of us find that the God (gods, goddesses, angels, ghosts and all those tales of Area 51) don't stand up to real scrutiny either !
