... If Thom's explanation is correct, then I have never understood the term Conservative ... this definition of " Conservative " versus " Moderate " sounds alien to me ... As a Canadian, I have always considered Conservationism to mean Careful and considered spending, SOME degree of social service, helping the needy who at least try to help themselves ... If Thom's conception of Conservatism is accurate, then - I guess - a Canadian Conservative is much more Liberal-minded than his American counterpart ... Ho-Ly SHIT !
