The most basic way to look at it is that the World, - not just America, but the WHOLE World is based upon a numbers game; you cannot hope to sustain an gigantic Market, unless you can sell to the Masses. When the Masses can't afford your Goods and Services, - your G&S's have NO MARKET. Duh ! ... and I sincerely doubt that you've been an Economist longer than I'VE been alive, Chum - I am Sixty-Six.

@FletchforFreedom Sorry, Bud, - you have so much of an Investment in your own So-Called Professional views, that you cannot see the forest for the Trees; an impoverished population will buy NOTHING beyond their immediate needs, and - given enough time and oppression, they will rise up and take what they need. The results of the 1917 Revolution were not pleasant for anyone, nor were they a good thing in the long run, - but that didn't stop them from happening. An economy of steadily rising Costs - coupled with a stagnation of Buying-power is never sustainable. The continuous flux of all-take-and-no-give is a recipe for economic collapse.

@FletchforFreedom Your insults are as meaningless as your skewed views; the current (and past) Unemployment figures are as biased as they are blind. Many of the jobs created in the last couple of years are low-paying and often temporary positions that force workers to subsidize their wages with a second job. They also fail to account for people who are not looking for work at the moment. How can you say that people " Have NEVER been better Compensated for their Labors, when Personal Bankruptcies are at an all-time high and American Debt is astronomical - by the Governments own Stats ? So far as the All-Take-No-Give is concerned, that's not even new - just more obvious.
