@jnyfumare Was America when they came in TWO years after they were asked and - almost didn't come in at all, thanks to the Isolationist factor ? The US is NEVER in any real danger of attack because they are blocked by the bulk of Canada and have an ocean of either side ... Europe ASKED the States for help - they DIDN'T demand it. Playing John Wayne comes with a cost ! ...

@jnyfumare ... I know ALL about it, Sonny ! And if it pleases you - and prevents you from having to change you pad - you can think that Churchill " begged " ... But keep ONE thing in mind, The United States hasn't been directly threatened since the War of Independence ... And you needed help from the French Navy to defeat the the Brits, so crack a book yourself once in a while ... and for Christ's sake - change your pad !

@cockneycharm3970 Yes, I did. Britain was being bombed into dust, but they were able to resist because of the 22 miles of water that separated them from the Continent. Most of Europe proper didn't have that small advantage and COULDN'T ask for help directly ... but they did NEED it. No menace taken.
