As @badassdahn said already... NO! However, that is NOT enough! The reasons and values behind that decision MUST be made clear and often. That child WILL be exposed to infinite numbers of their friends and peers who are going to have them and not only tease them for not having one themselves, but will become a "weapon" to isolate your child. This is a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario, but one that can be managed, IF the parent(s) are willing to put in the effort required to keep their child on a good path. I am 58 and had no such additional navigation of life, beyond what every child has had since the beginning of humanity. . The internet has fundamentally changed our culture in ways it will take well over 100 years to fully grasp. Pandora is out of the box and I fear we will have more downside, than up 😢

@DERTYthegrower ... I would be willing to bet, that at some point, a person will create an app or Smart Phone or tablet that has specific limitations to its function. There is software that does something similar already, but I'm talking about an OS that that simply will not display anything but text and answer phone calls. Someone may find a way to hack it, but a real code monkey could make it work.
