Listening to Ben explain how he and his wife, she is a doctor... by the way, have learned to get past that automatic "UGH...me solve now" guy thing, reminds me of how I learned to address my ex missing her bi-polar medication. When we first started dating and up until she moved into my home, I was completely unaware of this issue. I became aware when she had missed her dose and took about 8 hours before the negative effects would show and she would pick random fights over completely stupid stuff. Fast forward about 10 knock-down drag-outs of this and I put together the missed dosage and would say "take your dose and we will talk in about 5 hours". We then talked after that 5 hours and I generated a rule going forward. She knew I loved her and was always honest over everything else, so we agreed that I could ask if she missed her meds that day. . She knew and trusted me enough not to just say that at the drop of a hat, but when I suspected it was actually true. I cannot say how many knock-downs we had after that, but it was FAR less. Eventually, her inability to manage her meds and CC destroyed our relationship anyway and moved out. Not giving her a ring was the smartest thing I ever did.
