Ā @yoyoma17Ā ... Yes. I was subd to Sam for a number of years and looked past his TDS, because it was not relevant to why I followed him. However, as he sold more and more of his soul to the dark forces of derangement, it became more and more difficult to ignore. When he make comparisons to Osama Bin Laden and Hitler a few years back, I made sure to listen to the entire podcast, to make sure I had all of the context understood. Were it not for his well established TDS already, I would have given him some benefit of the doubt, but would push back on how he expressed himself. However, this was not the case, as he was quite clear and I could no longer respect him, as his principles took a back seat to his blind hate.
.
I actually gave him another chance, a year or so ago when he made his viral "eating my words syllable by syllable" Tweet. I listened to his entire podcast of "clarification" of that initial comparison of Hitler and Osama. It became clear, he had not done the reflection I had hoped and only doubled-down. He AGAIN doubled-down on Triggernomitry a few months back and now this. I am well beyond the point when I can afford him any benefit of good will or simply failure to be clear. Unless he was to COMPLETELY own his TDS and step back with a broad lens to accept his selling of core principles, I will forever be disappointed in him šæ

Wonderful conversation and the subject of "regret" is a fascinating one, because I most certainly have some of those (57 back in Sept.) I will share one that, to this day, literally 40 years ago, was something I said to someone that was 100% out of my normal character, but for the life of me, I cannot understand why I did :(.
.
Was a Saturday evening and going out to meet my buddies to hangout, drink some beers, smoke some pot and listen to music. I had stopped at a liquor store for something and there was a younger girl sitting on the curb. She was probably 15 and I was I guess 17 or so. Anyway, she was clearly very upset about something and may have even been crying. When I look back, what I SHOULD have done, was take a moment, sit down and give her the opportunity to voice what was bothering her. She was not threatened by me or anything and I really feel, had I taken the time, I really had the sense that she might be able to lighten the burden she was feeling and talk. I could have spent any amount of time necessary, if she requested or needed it... but I did not do that. Instead, I looked down at her sitting on the curb, clearly very sad and seemingly feeling very alone... I said...."The answer is at the bottom" and walked away.
.
Of course, I was referring to the old adage of the answer not being in the bottom of a whiskey bottle and who knows... she may have not even understood the reference. However, no doubt she took it as a slight or very unkind thing to say, which indeed it VERY much was. To this day, some 40 or so years later, I regret having handled this encounter in this way. This one chance meeting has stuck with me for all these years and, as I regretted this failure of my part within 10 minutes after I had driven away, I have NEVER forgotten how I felt for having responded in that manner. I don't beat myself up over it daily or anything, but I certainly think about it and one of those moments when I regret not having been a better version of me at the time :(

āĀ @c3cubedĀ ... I think evil covers it pretty well, but I hear what you are saying :) My biggest fear of all that we see, and I can tell you I have MANY various fears, is the following... what in the HELL do we do with these cultists when this all comes crashing down? Fortunately, I feel that the VAST majority are either just not paying attention, but still others are just sheep. They are seeking likes, clicks and fit into the social group of which they are surrounded. Of course, MANY of those "others" in the group are doing the exact same thing! THESE people are going to be open enough in order to come to accept that they were adopted by the cult to do their bidding.
.
However... we have the "true" leftists out there and are EXCEPTIONALLY aggressive and while very low in actual numbers, occupy exceedingly important jobs in which they control discourse. Google, FB, IG, Twitter (just hired a new CEO and boy, what an anti-American, anti-1a PoS he is!) and other platforms ... er publishing websites. These people are so completely indoctrinated in the hatred of America and its values, that they cannot, nor WILL not be capable of being open to the understanding that they have all of this wrong! There is just no way we will be able to reach them, as they will only adhere to "their truth" and is they ONLY truth they will accept.
.
These are the people we need to keep an eye on. They will be the cornered animal..... badly wounded leg..... exhausted from the hunters that have blocked all avenues of escape and baring teeth, because he will NOT be taken alive. I have no idea how we are to deal with these people.... I just don't :(

āĀ @markbuckingham649Ā ... It would not. What Sam is saying is if my aunt had balls, she would be my uncle. What he is necessarily avoiding is the circumstances presented dictate a manner in which we deal with Covid. Very early on, like in all new viruses, we did not really know the demographics of who would be gravely vulnerable. We have to assume all, until we get data to prove one way or another. We figured out real quick that while many were getting sick, it was comorbidities and elderly that were dying or had serious complications. Had this NOT been the case and children were the ones dying, there would have been much less hesitancy upon those who were skeptical. The issue of testing, or the lack there of, would STILL be a big concern, but if we see children dying, society is VASTLY less risk averted.
.
So, for Sam to completely change these circumstances with his hypothetical question and assume we all would have responded the same way, is ridiculous in the extreme. Sam is smarter than this, as is 98% of the population, so I don't know who he is trying to fool here.
.
EDIT... LOL... I just now watched the remaining video of The Gadfather here. All of my comments to this point, were prior to Gad's response after he played the full 5 min clip of Sam. Now that I watch it, I used the same metaphors he did šø
