You can always quickly spot a creator who tells the truth, because they never have ads! EDIT: Wonder how this guy would have responded, had this been the anniversary of losing his wife or child in the 9/11 attacks. I suppose he might have a different take.. eh?

@joe blow ... I will sometimes get muted sound issues, depending on the audio settings of my external 5.1 system. I think YouTube encodes audio differently at times or maybe due to the creator's upload. Either way, try switching to "Stereo" or "Surround", if you normally run at "5.1 surround" settings. Hope that helps :)

That's the rub, huh? :) While I don't like seeing ads any more than anyone else, YouTube IS free to sign-up and watch for the rest of our lives and never have to pay 1 dime to do so. I remember when YouTube was previously owned and to my knowledge, there were no ads at all, just cat video's... lol I Then, Google came along and purchased the domain for $1.65B (ya, I looked it up!) and with only ideas how to monetize it. Imagine making THAT kind of investment and not looking for a return! At the end of the day, there was really no other way to make direct money, because the live chat donations were not yet implemented. . So at the risk of having YouTube's back, as I have been censored more times than I can count by the Marxist minions who manipulate algorithm's, the ads are a small price to pay, for the amount of knowledge / entertainment I have gained from it. Probably 50% of the ads can be "skipped" after 5 seconds, so what you and I take issue with are really just 1st world problems.. Peace, Peter :)

@NogardCodesmith ... For years, my AdBlock extension was flawless, in that 100% of every video immediately played and never one time saw a YouTube inserted ad. Of course, over time platforms figure out how to circumvent how ads were being blocked and they started to creep in. Since I run Win XP, I am quite literally down to the very last browser that will work consistently on YouTube and it will one day not work at all. I have an iPad, so will be forced to use it exclusively at some point :(

@NogardCodesmith ... Thanks, but my issue is that I run Windows XP and it is just not compatible with the latest software. I do not like ANY of the later iterations of Windows, so I will just use my iPad when my browser finally fails completely. . As for censoring your comment... welcome to the exclusive club of YouTube and big tech authoritarian control of information. I deal with it constantly, so when I say something controversial like ... "there are only 2 genders" on a video about trans people, I had to change it to read "there are only too genders", because my comment kept getting deleted by algorithm. It is a simple fact that 1a is under full attack by leftists and it is as simple as a bit of code to delete your recommendation to help someone out. You were posting information on how to directly effect YouTube's bottom line and I was speaking absolute biological FACT, yet both are "wrong think" and not to be tolerated.

Oh, I misunderstood it as an app (saw Rasberriy and thought of the cell phone of, what... 20 years ago?) or software for PC, so played the "its not compatible card"... lol, sowwy :( I am curious how it works, as it must play endless game of cat and mouse by detecting ads... then ad companies figure it out to get past it and then rasberry writes another code to block it again... lol :) Not putting down your idea and thanks, but so long as ads are not all mandatory 5 min long, I will put up with them.... Thanks :) EDIT: I am being sincere when I say that software is just not compatible with my system. I am 32 bit pre-Windows 7, so there is NOBODY making software that is specifically compatible with my OS any longer. Oh, well... I am retired and so my computer is pretty much used to play Borderands, hidden object games and DiRT racing games :)
