@Aggie Rowe ... This all started in the very late '50s and I was exposed to the Marxist ideology from my grade school years. Fortunately, it was in its VERY early stages and had not taken over as it has today. I am now 58 and specifically recall being told that the world would RUN OUT OF OXYGEN due to the Amazon rain forests being cut down like 5 miles a day! My brother also recalls this and is 2 years older. The sad truth is that while Joseph McCarthy was an AWFUL human un-being, he was 100% correct about the communist threat of the mid 50's. We are now 3 generations in and the entire movement got a focal point when Obama was elected. Then, when Trump was elected, the entire plan got derailed and easy to understand why the hatred for him was ABSOLUTELY beyond anything we have ever seen in politics. Trump was in the way and now that he is gone, the Marxists are full steam ahead after complete destruction of the western world economy and next on the chopping block.... 1a then 2a. . What the Marxists fail to grasp is that those of us who were not indoctrinated with the leftist idiotology WILL not stand for communism! I fear this will all lead directly to a civil war in the streets :( EDIT: speling erors fixd... DOH!

@tribble1 ... A witch hunt is generate fear and rattle cages to get people to give up information! McCarthy "Witch hunts" were designed to round up people and create fear / intimidation into "outing" another who possibly had communist sympathies. Just getting investigated was enough to arouse concerns by others, because ... "you must have done something or they would not have questioned you" right? . Intellectually, you are correct.... just calling someone a communist is not a witch hunt, but ever expanding investigations and the hype that surrounded being IN one of those investigations, was enough to make people exceedingly scared and give names to hopefully get off the hook. Of course, those people named would be investigated, in the hopes that THEY would give names... and so on. We saw what happened to justice Kavanaugh at the Senate hearings. The leftists were just saying over and over and over how he assaulted someone and when this goes on for weeks, more and more people believe where there's smoke there is fire. McCarthy operated the same way and looking at Hollywood is a quick way to see how effective it was. . PS> Hollywood was and STILL is full of commies, so easy to see why they were so scared... lol

@tribble1 ... While I agree with much of what you say, McCarthy was EVIL in how he addressed his concerns over the threat of communism. The blacklisting and using high pressure tactics to get people to roll-over on "suspected" enemies of the state. It was just as it now with leftists... the accusation is ALL that matters and peoples lives were destroyed by that simple accusation.There were plenty of people who saw the evil and excessive power of McCarthy, but to question him, was twisted into you must have something to hide or you would just cooperate. Which hunt is exactly what McCarty did and while he was a horrible person, he was right about the threat.

@aggierowe9574 ... RE: by the time I was in college... We are STILL seeing the same doomsday people to this very day, as we have seen our whole lives. Now, I get that we needed to clean our act up and we have made massive leaps and bounds, but the Greta's of the world just get louder and louder. While those keep turning to America to do ALL the work for preservation, clean air / water and such, India, China, Mexico and others are not doing their part. We have imposed so many regulations for clean environment, it drives businesses to these other countries and guess what... the ENTIRE WORLD breathes the same air. Unless the truly global world gets on the same page and ACTIVELY pursues the same eco goals, we will continue to have Greta's barking at how we are all going to be under water in 12 years! . PS> We sure as hell don't see AOC and all the rest of these "greenies" stop buying houses in The Hamptons... do we?
