OK, @7:00 in and I am done here. What happened to Rayshard was horrible and sad he lost his life, but Joe is off his nut. He was drunk in his car and that is considered drunk driving. Under the law, it must be assumed that he drove there drunk or will leave there drunk in his car. He had a terrible history of violent felonies, prison time and various bad criminal behavior. The police, as well as Rayshard, were 100% cordial and friendly until he was to be placed under arrest for drunk driving (failed breathalizer test). At that point, Rayshard resisted and threw both officers off of him, during the hand-cuffing procedure. Both officers were overpowered by an obviously strong man, but since he was known to be drunk and understand his criminal history, Rayshard has used up an overwhelming amount of ANY possible good will and he may be on other drugs that provide resistance to pain or enhance strength. When Rayshard took the taser, he crossed the line... BIG TIME. He had already over powered both officers, if one was incapacitated by taser, Rayshard need only over power the second officer again or has an opportunity to grab the gun of the officer who is now down. When Rayshard runs away, he turns and fires the taser at the officers, but misses (not for lack of trying). He need only run far enough to get into a home or find a person walking on the street to take a hostage and now we have ANOTHER innocent person possibly harmed and at the very least extremely traumatized by Rayshard.
.
What are the cops supposed to do? There comes a point when one has used up all of his / her capitol of good will. Rayshard reached that point likely years ago, yet here he was doing it all again. I am so sick of the public sitting back in the comfort of a living room, 100% removed from these types of situations and saying.... "well, he wasn't a bad guy, they should have done X instead" Hindsight is 20/20 and what if Rayshard had gotten away and into a home of sleeping family? What if he held a knife to the throat of a young child? These officers KNEW the criminal history of Rayshard, so there comes a time when you NO LONGER get the benefit of the doubt and must be stopped. Rayshard is dead today, because of his own actions. Is it possible the cops could have ran him down and subdued him successfully the second time....? Sure. But it is 100% as likely he would have found a person nearby and taken a hostage or harmed another person. Rayshard is dead today, because of Rayshard's actions.... nothing more. Easy to sit back and spend 2 weeks analyzing the events that took place in 5 seconds of real time and come up with 100 fantasy outcomes. 99.9999999999% if those people watching or listening to Joe Rogan do not have anywhere NEAR the criminal past of Rayshard Brooks, so safe to imagine that he is a bit more dangerous than you and me.
