I hope that one day, people will come to understand that Democratic legislation / rule lead to the issues depicted in this video. Empathy for law-breakers leads to innocent people suffering.

@LDJ-r8e ... I too feel this is the ONLY way we will see any kind of meaningful change. My only fear is that we will over-correct and the pendulum will swing too far the other way. We need to have SOME compassion and understanding for various circumstances, but since those circumstances MUST be very specific in law, they must be followed to the letter and how shit like this happens. . I guarantee, that NOBODY who wrote up the legislation to protect the single mom with 4 children getting thrown out on the street for being late on her rent, would be twisted into allowing what is obviously criminal behavior go without ability to punish for 2 years like this. It is simply not possible to account for all of the possibilities in a given law, but there needs to be a contingency for a body of people to adjudicate a solution, when it goes THIS far off the rails. We have judges, but they are bound by existing written law. There needs to be a body of people who are accountable to local citizens with the ability to make decisions, when such abuse is this happens.

@miraann3997 .. RE: You can still empathize... : The only way to get to the root of the problem, is afford the opportunity for one to get out of it... capitalism does this. I am not going to argue that life is "fair" or that every person has the same difficulty or ease at exercising those opportunities, but that is how life works. There is ZERO reason why the poorest person in America, cannot become the richest person in the world, say for a few things that cannot be controlled by society. . Basic raw talent, the internal drive to succeed and discipline to follow the rules that societies have set down for millennia. Whether it be Herschel Walker playing football, Bach creating music or Bill Gates writing computer code. There was most definitely support for each along the way, but without basic raw drive / talent for these things, they would never in a million years get to where they arrived and no amount of effort can create that raw drive or intrinsic talent. We have seen extremely poor kids from the worst parts of town, become Mike Tyson, for example, and make millions, upon millions of dollars, but only to piss it away, because raw talent and hard work are not enough... one has to have that discipline as well. . For without it, all of the hard work, talent and even a massive amount of support structure cannot save them from ending up like countless musicians and actors that ended up dying of OD :( Poverty is NOT the reason people don't make the most of themselves, it is merely a hurdle to those who have :)

Tabbers ... Agreed :( While the awakening of the masses is an EXCEEDINGLY slow, tedious and frustrating process to witness, they ARE turning. I think by the time it does begin to actually start going the opposite direction, the damage will have been so extensive, as to create a fundamental shift in culture itself. I think we will see... um, Gen A 2.0..? shift back to more traditional values and start anew. Sadly, I feel it will take either the complete collapse or damned close to it, for this to happen... it will happen. . You and I won't be around to see it come to fruition, but they say that something good comes out of tragedy. Let's hope this holds true!
