  4.  Googlag Inmate #666  ... I remember VERY well the days of Tipper Gore going after the music industry (focused on Rap), due to lyrical content "corrupting our kids". That was spear headed by the political right and was the LEFT who was arguing 1a without relent. Of course, the leftist is saying that we need to implement "hate speech laws" to protect minorities from violence. They want to silence conservatives, because they are seen as universally racist, bigoted, sexist, homophohbic, xenophobic and all the rest, so big tech is all about silencing such voices. . Make no mistake, if this admin is successful in adding to SCOTUS, they will 100% go after 1a & 2a as first thing!!!!! While it was the left defending free speech to the bitter end only 20 years ago, it is the left that is looking for any excuse possible to stomp all over it today!

  5.  Googlag Inmate #666  ... I 100% agree that it is the PARENTS job to pay attention to what their kids are doing and the music they ingest. I don't have an issue with a label that says "explicit lyrics", as this tells parents to be aware of what their kids hear. The problem becomes... what words, lyrics or context makes such music "obscene" and most critically of all... WHO decides what falls under this criteria? . It is just not possible to decide, as I can point to a hundred EXCEEDINGLY popular pop songs over the last 50 years, that are very explicit, but just use "friendly" language. I heard it said that supporting 1a is not defending your neighbors right to say what a nice car you have, it is defending him saying your wife is an ugly bitch!

I left the page and YT had deleted my comment due to a word below --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This still leaves it up to a group or political body to determine WHAT is deemed acceptable speech. Clearly, you and I can come up with 20 or so words that are pretty much considered offensive or should not be said in mixed company. . Example: We might agree that saying "that girl is a *hore" is considered explicit. OK, what if I say..."That girl is a garden tool"? I just said the same thing, only used better language. That might make it past the "advisory" sticker, but do we want kids to say "garden tool" to describe a girl that is, ummm.... "experienced" ..lol. . This ALWAYS comes down to who decides what is / is not offensive. So, the breast thing we can do, is put a sticker for the 7 naughty words and expect that parents WILL BE parenting their kids. There is no doubt, kids will be exposed to it by their friends and such, but that has ALWAYS been the nature of adolescence. . Teach your kids a good moral center, teach them right from wrong, take the time to TRULY explain important topics when they come up and they will be just fine :) . This comment being deleted is a textbook example of YouTube taking on the role of "protecting its users". However, need only look at the context of what I said and COMPLETELY changes what I was actually saying. I have MASSIVE issues with YT censoring with such a broad brush, but happens to me all the time in discussions like this :)

I remember Halford sitting in court singing in his AWESOME style saying words that the parents believed convinced their kids to either kill themselves or was it a school shooting..? I don't remember. The parents had convinced themselves that Judas Priest was singing lyrics to get people to do violent acts. . Just crazy how a parents grief can lead you down an even darker path, with the aid of some attorney willing to grab the spotlight... how very sad all that was :(

  8. ​ Macon Love  ... Yes, I know they were Democrats, but they had much support among the GOP. It was one of the few times that the left targeted anything to do with free speech. Hell, the ACLU used to argue vehemently for the right s of a new-Nazi group to march through Chicago. While I certainly don't want to hear what such people have to say, I will support their right to say it.

  9.  Macon Love  ... too bad that the all mighty $$$ is often the cause for one to go astray from their stated values. However, in this case, it is the Marxist ideology that has so infiltrated our society. We have had 3 full generations now of Marxist indoctrination and I know, because I am just about to turn 57 and was indeed exposed in grade school years. It was nowhere NEAR as pervasive as it was in the years following, but that sweet smell of socialism is just too strong to ignore :(
