Yes,yes, yes!!! Let's convert all of our park land into housing. In fact, developers are already putting together a campaign to convince the public that all that open space is going to waste. What are all those trees, lakes, and grass really doing but taking up space when it could be used for housing for another half a million people. That's the really the ultimate plan and you will soon be hearing proposals for "limited" development on park land.
In fact, the ultimate goal is to get rid of Golden Gate Park, Mission Dolores, Moscone, etc., and convert them all into mega high rise condos and apartments like the Salesforce Tower. School yards are another place to bulldoze and put up high rises.
Then pass zoning laws that restrict all new housing to micro-apartments where you go to the bathroom in the same space where you eat and sleep. Or better yet, have communal kitchens and bathrooms where you share eating and showering space like a college dorm and your only private space will be a cubicle with a bed.
Make the city so dense you can't walk a block down the street without bumping into 100 people just like China and Hong Kong.
