  10.  @polarblue7468  there are a Couple reasons. When the pipeline was 1st proposed a dozen yrs ago oil prices were thru the roof. Alberta's tar sands were seen as a good source of fossil fuel. Keystone is a more direct pipeline into the US. One already exists and is transporting today. There have been around 20 spills from that pipeline to date One Skilling close to 300k gallons . Tar sands is the dirtiest fossil fuel on the planet. And the hardest to clean up. That oil will travel the length of the country top to bottom to refineries in texas and Louisiana to be refined and sold abroad. Building the pipeline just to create jobs makes no sense.
