@gerrilanter1965 not really. But they were in the spring. Last surge consisted of Haitian refugees. A country that just experienced a major earthquake. And a presidencial assassination. Someone is definatly taking advantage of the calamity. Most say it is the cartels or something similar. In the spring it was the combination a Of a new more welcoming administration. 3 major hurricanes, a drought and the backlog of tens of thousands that were denied entry during the last administration. The problem wasn't solved then.it just prolonged the inevitable. Been this way since Nixon. Let's not forget that the last administration cut off funding to the 3 major countries the spring surge produced. Funds that partly were used to discourage illegal immigrants.

@catherinehanson1106 I don't disagree with you. My arguement is the relentless propaganda conservatives place at ole Joe's feet like this is something new and it is all his doing. The don dealt with it in 2019. Obama did in 2014. 20 yrs ago a million illegals cane across annually. The largest law enforcement agency in the country is doing all it can to control the various surges. Build a wall. It will help. But it will never completely solve a problem we've had for 60+ yrs.

@catherinehanson1106 by Sept 2020 here were 70k apprehensions a month. It didn't just happen. The don did enjoy app 4 months of record low apprehensions. April- August were under 10k monthly. It didn't last.

@catherinehanson1106 here's another thought. Afghanistan was costing the US taxpayer 350 million a day every day for 20 yrs. I'd much rather see it spent to improve the lives of US Citizens. And deterring illegal immigration. Food for thought.
