Some other important facts:
1. Until 19th centuries, the word "China" in Chinese was a concept of the land, not of the country. It was Japanese who taught the concept for the country to Chinese students in Japan. Before that, there were simply different dynasties.
2. Even though they boast about their five thousand year history, China was first united less than three thousand years ago. In fact, China was united for two of the last three thousand years.
3. The first Emperor, Qin Shi Huang , was not Han Chinese, and it was only for six hundred years that Han Chinese ruled the unified China during Former Han, Latter Han and Ming. Other dynasties were run by imperial families of different race.
4. Manchuria, Mongol, Uighur and Tibet were never ruled by the Han Chinese.
