  1. I am really surprised you did not bend push rods when turning it over after sitting for that long valves are 99% of the time stuck. Somebody must of been running that car within that time for the valves not to be stuck. That's amazing

That driveshaft is called a torque tube many older cars had them some right into the 60's even corvettes still use them or did before the moved the engine the first time I messed with one was when I was removing a trans out of a 1966 AMC Rambler Classic the funny thing with that car is it did not have any cooling lines to it too it was a weird thing but since then I have messed with the torque tube many times even rebuild them too.

  3. You need to invest in a paint gun to do big stuff like that and it's so much cheaper then rattle can they have some good stuff at harbour freight for less then 20 bucks up to $30 and buy a can of paint with some reducer and go to town so much cheaper better and easy on the finger
