  2. That rollback needs a cummings find a 24 valve 5.9 for that thing you should check out JH Diesels 77 Chevy he had a 24 Valve 5.9 out of his burnout truck but he blew it up so he put a 6.7 Cummings in it the thing is a sweet ride

I would keep the 289 heads because if the valves and ports are the same as the 302 HO heads then you will be losing with the higher combustion and I would not worry about the non harden seats too much there is always a lead substitute that you can add to the fuel but I have seen heads run todays fuel and last a long time without harden seats. The engine would need a rebuild before the valves start sinking in the head.
