  1. I used to work in Japanese multinational company, and I have this Japanese boss who was so busy in front of his computer. When I went to his direction to get something, I glanced at his laptop's monitor and he was just playing solitaire. He was just pretending to do some work trying to look busy, and I think this is the case for most salaryman. Pretend to work even if work is done just so you can please your boss, and your colleagues won't think your lazy.

  2. Exactly we're a little westernized here in the Philippines and we express ourselves here to the point that it may upset other people. Not to mention our tendency to be individualistic. Also sarcasm is normal to us.

  18. In my case, it's how hard it is to enter Japan when you're not on the list of countries exempted for a visa-free visit. When you are coming from a developing country Japan is not as cheap as for someone coming from say, North America, Western Europe etc.
