  2. Gen X here (1965). No you're not lazy or even more self aware. The current problem is the corporate work culture has gotten 10,000% worse since the 1970s and 1980s. It's phenomenally toxic. ALSO loss of pensions and job security, longer hours, more micromanagement. Companies ask for way too much qualifications for the compensation. It's turning in to defect slavery. Im feeling it myself. For example I had a job at the University of California in 1990 and recently started working there again. Even with a strict boss in 1990 you could still have fun with your co-workers. Not possible today.
