  1. I took DNA. Im 2/3 British Isles 1/3 West African. I skip my American Settler and Carribean Slave communities and just go straight to my original ethnic sources.

  2. I'm 2/3 white British Isles 1/3 black west African and raised in New England. My skin gets light in Northeastern Winters. Now I finally understand why some of my classmates thought I might be Italian after watching this episode. It never made sense to me before

  4. Hey beautiful girl. You know your problem? You're holding on to privilege offered to you ad American lady. It's a poison pill. I see a beautiful Euro African woman. All Americans of African descent need to embrace ALL or their distant ancestors. I have distant white ancestors dating to 1600s in USA but I consider myself British, not white colonial. Hope that sparks a new view.

  5. I took ancestry DNA test results in 2020. My 2020 results showed some French acestry. They have slightly updated since then. I believe they are accurate with exceptions. For example my most recent 2023 results wiped French ancestry even though I have known French ancestry from my family tree. It may have something to do with The current country of France disallowing DNA testing of its populace. Also you should be aware - and per Harvard's Henry Louis Gates research - it was common practice daring Americam slavery when a mixed baby was born, they falsely claimed it had Native American Ancestry. (This even happened in my family) Turns out very very few African-American have native American ancestry. Thats right - the truth is old Massa Smith snuck into Laquisha's room and had some fun one saturday evening. When the baby came out they claimed it was Native American. 😅 I believe the modern DNA results you received from ancestry are very accurate. Sometimes we dont want to recognize The Truth is more interesting than our fantasies. I hope you share your results one day 👍
