I wouldn't take away the welfare state as there are people that do legitimately need help sometimes, but I would make it extremely difficult for people to get welfare just by spitting out a kid everything they need a boost in benefits. Make the dad pay, and if he can't pay then off to jail with him, and if there is no dad then mom goes to jail. Maybe that's harsh, and maybe it can't be done, but I do agree with you that single motherhood needs to be stopped.

  3. you had me right up until you started yammering about the root causes. probably the only root cause i would agree with you on is the dysfunctional families one, plenty of these gangbangers are living in their grammys house or their aunties house because momma aint fit to be a parent and daddy is locked up, mostly for low level crimes like possessing weed. the 94 crime bill did a huge disservice to the black community by further destroying black and brown families. mental health care has nothing to do with some gangbanger who wants to shoot another homie on the street because he is wearing the wrong color shirt, or shoot at random people so he can look good to his other homies nad get accepted into the gang. poor education has nothing to do with it either, we all have the same level of education, provided for by the CPS system, the majority of us are not running around shooting up the block. homelessness/poverty are not the root causes either, poverty may play a small role in it where they shoot up the streets while fighting over their turf to sell that weed, but homeless people have much bigger problems to deal with and are significantly less likely to commit acts of wanton destruction by shooting up the streets. you want to find solutions, start working on legalizing some of these drugs like maryhuana, i dont smoke it myself, but no reason why people need to go to jail and away from being able to raise their families properly. start treating the criminals like criminals. somehow practically every time the news reports that a gangbanger was shot or arrested somehow the cops knew all about him, they had extensive files on him and so on. little Maria wont see her 9th birthday, but we can all rest assured that the cops knew this guy with an extensive record, some of these people have longer records than most peoples resumes or itunes playlists.
