@shakenbacon3655 i would add on a little extra to your figure just to be safe, some of those cops may be doing this on overtime, and they may be using specialized gear that is not part of their daily gear.

@outtadarkness1970 its not my quote, it belongs to Lord Torano of the Ministry of Intelligence for the Centauri Republic, Babylon 5, i just use it, LOL. joking, i know what you mean. 1. i think the people who came up with the slogan DID think it through, because right away there were questions of what it meant and they already had a pre-prepared response and explanation of the "meaning" of their slogan, and that explanation was simply to state that their meaning of the word is completely different from your traditional meaning of the word as understood by everyone simply because they say so. to me that indicates being missleading. 2. some politicians have knee jerk reactions, and others tend to follow the crowd (polls), and others still know better, but will refuse to fix the problem and only do a quick knee jerk reaction because it keeps them in power. remember, politicians are only there for as long as we allow them to be there. its called job security, put a bandaid on the problem to fix it short term but have it pop up later on so they can offer another solution again since they were so good at solving it the first time around.

@outtadarkness1970 1. always look at things differently, always questtion. always learn. always ask WHY. sometimes you find some interesting things, other times you just waste your time, but really, is the persuit of knowledge and greater understanding a waste of time? Edison mad 1000 attempts at creating a light bulb, where would we be if he had given up after the first attempt? 2.yes, unfortunately there is no cure that i know of for complacency. hard times make strong men, strong men make good times, good times make weak men, weak men make hard times. and the cycle repeats, its some theory of repetition that states it runs on an 80 year cycle, i dont remember its name, but it basically states that every 80 years or so there is a turning. perhaps thats our nature.

hmmmm, maybe start raising taxes to help fund some programs to help homeless people?

@outtadarkness1970 or perhaps the term is a lie? if you have to explain what your slogan means and that explanation is different from the tittle of your slogan, then perhaps your slogan is a lie and people are not that willfully ignorant as you say. you cant say "defund" and then try to go on to explain that even though the word "defund" means to take money away from or divert money away from, it doenst mean that in your context.

@outtadarkness1970 if the people using it have to explain it, then they dont really mean what they imply with the term. funny how when they say "defund" they have to explain that they mean reform or change, but they wont use the term "reform" in their slogan. so perhaps their explanation to you is a lie as they hide their true intent just so that later on they can fall back on saying "we told you thats what we were doing". several municipalities voted to defund the police, and afterwards they voted to take funds away from the police. they were not changing or reforming the police, they were defunding it just like the term meant. ask yourself this, if the slogan "defund the police" really means reform the police, then why dont they use the slogan "reform the police"? why do you have to jump through hoops to be told that what they say is not what they mean, perhaps their explanation is a lie to cover up that their slogan is a lie.
