@xjarheadjohnson talking about babies, you pointd out Thailand, i figured i would point out a statistic, then you go hyperbolic with all the countries that have better infant mortality, its a garbage argument. alot of countries have univeral healthcare, some are better and some are worse, so it must not be the universal part of the healthcare that makes a difference. but i guess you dont have neough college education to think past a signle issue, you think that universal healthcare for all will make things better. we have great healthcare here already, making it universal healthcare will do the following, it might cause costs to go up in the same way college tuition skyrocketed when the government started getting involved in it. and it will for certain lower overall healthcare when a limited resource gets delegated to everyone at the same time, for example. a doctor can see 40 patients per hour in a week, if you raise the number of patients that go see a doctor, then either the doctor can not spend an hour on each patient or the overflow of patients will need to wait which creates a backlog of waiting patients. in either situation the level of healthcare diminishes, while at the same time, everyone that can pay for it will be forced to pay for it through their taxes, which will increase. every time you add people onto a system it causes the costs of that system to increase or causes the level of service to decrease. France is listed as #1 in healthcare, what is not mentioned is the income tax rate, at 27k you are paying 30% tax, at 74k you are paying 41%, and thats JUST the income tax, not including the various local taxes and the EU taxes. you point out other countries and point out how they are better without looking at why they are better or how and completely disregard other places that have the same things and are worse. if you like the healthcare somewhere else, than move to somewhere else instead of demanding that we have the same here and sticking the bill for it to other Americans. i speak from experience when i say that universal healthcare is not better, because i lived in some of those countries, and ive used their healthcare system from time to time.

@xjarheadjohnson we already have better healthcare than most of the world, what you want is a new system of delivery, universal healthcare does not mean better healthcare, it just means everybody gets healthcare, the problem is that if everybody gets access to a finite resource then nobody gets enough of that resource, and only people that are capable of paying for it will be forced to pay for it. if you can afford to buy a pizza then you go out and buy a pizza and you enjoy that pizza, with universal pizza, you go out and buy the pizza because you have the money to do that, and then you share that pizza with your entire neighborhood because you have to, in fact, you are expected and forced to go and buy a pizza for your entire neighborhood. as for trade school, big deal, my nephew just finished trade school this year, FOR FREE, oh the shock that trade school is still free. and college tuition started going up when government got involved in it, not necessarily when they started or stopped funding it, government guarantees most college loans, thats their involvement, and that has caused tuition prices to rise. as for the greatest generation paying higher taxes, yea, they did, you are more than welcome to give up 50% of your income to fund someone elses laziness, but dont demand that my income contribute to it. and yes, i say laziness because i see alot of it, plenty of people that refuse to work and demand that everyone else pay for them with welfare.
