  2. most people who argue for removing the filibuster do not understand its purpose in our government. it was the same when the democrats removed the 60 vote majority needed in the senate to confirm judges, Trump got 3 appointees was it? democrats sure hated that and railed against that. apparently they did not learn the lesson that the filibuster is there to differing factions work with each other. and the argument AOC makes claiming that democrat policies are wildly popular because they havent been removed is like republicans claiming that the wars in the middle east are wildly popular because we are still there after 20 years with no end in sight. its a faulty argument. a country should not be run where the majority can do as they please, that leads to abuse and atrocity. the majority ruled in Germany, how many dead? the majority ruled in Russia, how many dead? the majority ruled in China, how many dead? we are not a country of majority rule with no input from the minority, we are a country of many voices, and all should be equall and all should be heard.
