  1. so lets see, 40 million plus at $50k comes out to about $2 trillion. thats a possible $2 trillion bump in the national debt within the first 100 days, a national debt that ALL Americans have to pay for, and this additional debt is for personal debt. im wondering how long before the government comes and cancels out my mortgage, or my car payment, or my credit card bills, because all those are keeping me from adding into the economy and buying fancy little toys i dont need or going to restaurants on a daily basis. can the government take care of all my personal debt and put in on the shoulders of other taxpayers?

  2. bad analogy, fixing a problem propagated by society or a government is completely different from forcing society to fix a problem caused by an individual. SA ending siege warfare harms no one, while forcing everyone to pay for someones personal debt harms all those forced to pay for that debt.

  3.  @jontraz5993  I'm lying about what? Society doesn't force you to get a college degree, society doesn't put a gun up to anyone's head and force anyone to go into student loan debt. It's you who is lying claiming society makes anyone do that because I know plenty of people who didn't get any college debt because society didn't force them to.

  4.  @jontraz5993  you are right, I don't want to pay for someone else's healthcare, I also don't want to pay for someone else's tuition, especially when that tuition involves degrees in insanity such as gender studies and lesbian dance theory. I would be willing to pitch in to pay for someone's college if it involved degrees in STEM, but not every degree under the sun. Funny thing is a lot of these college loans are used for personal things such as a car and spring break vacations, I know, I have several friends I work with that have done it. Your analogy about an antidote is LUNACY. A better analogy would be, "we have this antidote, but you have to pay for it" then a couple of years later "we still have this antidote, but those people don't want to pay for it so you pay for theirs". It's double dipping, pay for your own college and then pay for someone else's college too. If you want free college that's fine, everyone that wants it should be marked for a 30% increase on their taxes for the rest of their life to pay for it, this way you get a college degree without the debt you are saddled with and you don't saddle other people with that debt. As for the defence budget, I don't like it that high either, I sure as he'll want it lowered, I don't want us spending billions to be the world police, I want other countries to pay their fair share of NATO costs. The last presidents that did NOT get us involved in foreign conflicts are Carter and Trump, everyone else had to go off half cocked and blow something up. You still haven't explained or convinced me as to why I should pay for your personal debt. You want a college degree, they YOU pay for a college degree.

  5.  @jontraz5993  TUITION FREE COLLEGE? Wouldn't it be great if you could go to a trade school and learn a good trade that makes great money, FOR FREE? Oh wait, that's a thing. The trucking industry is offering new truck drivers up to a $12k sign on bonus and salaries of average $2k per week take home, ALL WITH FREE TRAINING. various trade unions will take applicants and put them through training for free and give good paying jobs, ALL FOR FREE. My nephew joined a carpenters union about 2 years ago, right now he is making $21 an hour, within 5 years he is projected to make $35 an hour. I offered a girl in the office I work in a position where she would double her pay in 1 year and make low 6 figures within 5 years, I took her downstairs where the ComEd guys were working on our electrical upgrades and said "hey guys, this black chick wants to join your union." It was nice watching a bunch of old white men pleading with her to call their union rep on the cards they were handing her. Her response was that she didn't want to do that. You want a college degree, then pay for it, there are already a bunch of free training programs out there that lead to great careers, the only thing is those don't get you the prestige of claiming a college degree and pretending you are smart. PAY YOUR OWN WAY.
