if West Virginians support and want the bill, and Manchin votes against it, then West Virginians will have an opportunity to vote him out of office. if they re-elect him then apparently they were against the bill and the media lied to you.

@donnievance1942 and thats one of the bigger problems in congress and our government. these bills that are tied to other bills and dumb shit like that to where a few years down the line you are asking why the hell is this bad thing happening, because it was tied to that measly crumb freebie you got several years ago. Obamacare, great super duper bill to give people free healthcare, thats all you numnuts were spoonfed, then several years down the line you ask why the hell there is a fine on your tax returns and why the hell everyones healthcare expenses went up. here you have your BBB that will give the wealthy around $300 billion in SALT tax cuts therefore negating any adverse effects of raising their taxes to where they come out with a net zero liability to their taxes while at the same time giving you freebies. in a couple of years you will be asking why the hell is the IRS auditing me because they think i should have paid more money and why the hell is the defecit going higher and why the hell did my taxes go up. BECAUSE YOU WANTED IT.

quick and dirty explanation. the rich would get a $300+ billion tax cut, and so all these benefits would be paid for by average taxpayers.

@budomk9299 it would only partly be paid by raising taxes on corporations, and those corporations would in turn raise their prices to consumers (you and I) to offset the new tax rates. look at the companies that are raising their prices right now citing rising costs, taxes is one of the costs they calculate.

maybe we should see every point and provision that is in the bill, and maybe the people that wrote the bill should explain why there is over $300 billion in SALT tax benefits for the rich only.

Eric Holder makes statements in public to a public audience telling people to KICK their opponents, NO DENOUNCEMENT THERE. democrats LIE about what Trump says, NO DENOUNCEMENT THERE. in 2009, Joe Wilson (R) was denounced and forced by Republican leadership to apologize to Obama for making an outburst and calling Obama a liar. i have yet to see democrats denounce Pelosi for disrespecting Trump during an adress to congress by ripping up Trumps speech? how many democrats have been denounced for calling Trump a liar for 4 years straight in the same way Joe Wilson was denounced.

@stevonwhite8933 yea, it's all about greed, the truckers are raising their costs because of greed, not because their fuel prices went up. Companies are raising their costs because of greed, not because their shipping costs went up because of higher trucking prices. They also raised their prices because of greed, not because it's harder to get raw materials because there is a shortage. Yup, it's all be a use of greed. I work in the trucking industry, have been for the past 18 years, and I'm looking at the prices go up. Truckers are paying almost twice as much for fuel this year as they did last year. There is a shortage of containers because they are all stuck on boats in the ocean or they are stuck on the docks because of the jab mandates on the west coast. But yea, you have been told it's all about greed so I guess you are right because that's the feel good talking point.

POINT TO THE SOCIETY THAT WAS NOT RULED BY GREED AND ACCOMPLISHED ANYTHING NOTEWORTHY? Egyptians ruled the world for a time because they invented chariots. Greeks ruled the world at one time because they had the best naval support. Romans ruled the world because they created roads. British ruled because they created colonies. Americans ruled because they created technology. every civilization has a chance to rule based on what they contribute to the world and if its better than everyone elses. every ruling civilization must face its decline when another one comes up with something new. the next civilization to rule the world will do it because of AI. but yea, you keep whinning about greed because they wont give you that participation trophy. maybe if you sacrifice a little then you can maybe share in the rewards instead of showing up at the end and demanding to be given free stuff just for existing.

Steve Jobs went to his old man and asked to borrow a gazillion dollars so he could start up apple and sit on his ass watching the money flow in like the Mississippi River. I guess the story about gates and his friends dropping out of college and putting together the money to start up Microsoft was all a fairy tale right? When Amazon stock takes a hit and the shares fall and Bezos loses a billion, which employees put in the money to shore up the stock? You expect to get rewarded when the company does good but don't take a hit when the company does bad.

please someone explain every single provision in the build back better plan and why it should be voted in favor of? remember, the government is not looking to hire 80,000 extra IRS workers and require banks to report on any account transactions over $600 so they can go after billionaire tax cheats, billionaires dont make their money by doing $600 deals. its so they can look at regular peoples accounts and go after people like Uber drivers and waitresses and various other people who make money on the side without reporting it on their taxes. Ms. Jones, you showed on your taxes that you only made $5000 as a waitress last year, but somehow we show that every month you happened to make a $1200 rent payment, and since we looked at that, we decided to look even deeper and realized you make a $150 phone payment and a $100 cable payment and your car payment and car insurance. how is it that you can pay for all these things when you only made $5000 last year?"
