close to what Loki originally was? what was Loki originally? please enlighten us, because i see Loki as a deity capabale of using magic to change one appearance, but still originally born as a SON of Fárbauti, a jötunn and Laufei, a goddess. in all the written fables of Norse mythology, Loki and Thor have always been referred to as brothers, never as brother and sister, or brother and creature, or brother and magical beast, but always as brothers. so as far as mythology goes, Loki originally was a MAN, no matter what he shape-changed into for a time, that was his original form.

@Blodhelm i never claimed to know oh so much about Loki and being an expert, and yes, i have heard this fable. the fact that your last sentence points out that "his shape" and "his sexuality" proves my point that the OG Loki, GOD of mischief, was indeed a male, and shape shifting into a female horse doesnt make him gender fluid anymore that it makes his species fluid just like kids dressing up for halloween doesnt put their identity of being human or anything into question. by the way, i dont remember anything in the fable of how Loki enjoyed being chased by Svaðilfari, or if he enjoyed being ravaged by him? did he enjoy it? or was it against his will, or was it simply done to complete his task without regard for any enjoyment? i mean, even if its done against your will and without your consent or enjoyment, such as men being raped in prison, then its ok, it changes them too right? but hey, you keep trying to rewrite history and trying to justify appropriating whichever culture if it makes you feel better because you are incapable of making your own.

@danielbroome5690 i agree with you completely, its a whole new character, so a whole new level of real estate to explore sexuality and race and gender and all the fun issues. but then i read the part of your comment about the PR adopted kid. here is how i would describe interesting characters. bulletproof man who can fly - superman. strong man who climbs walls and shoots spider webs - spiderman. masked vigilante uses various gadgets against criminals - batman. a god who wields lightning with a hammer - thor. a soldier who fights crime using a special shield - Captain America. here is how you described a character. a PR adopted kid. when legendary characters are created, their identities are not as important as their powers and abilities. everyone wants to be a superman or spiderman or batman NOT because they are white and adopted, BUT because they are relateable. people can relate to those characters. your character, whats so special about him? a Puerot Rican adopted kid, already sounds boring, maybe thats why the book failed and was cancelled because no one got hooked on it, because people dont want to be Puerto Rican or adopted or white or black, people want to be powerful or fascinating.

@whysocurious7366 no, im not overlooking it, i acknowledge it. what i am not doing is claiming that simply because it happened once then its the standard for always being so. OG Loki was a man, born a man and lived as a man. what others are trying to claim is that OG Loki, the original loki was never a man and was always binary or whatever.

@jacobpickett5085 completely understandable and true, Loki is a diety existing outside of standard human constraints, but he also identifies more with masculine models is also true, and people trying to rewrite mythology and mysticism to claim he doesnt simply to promote their own beliefs is inaccurate and wrong, which is something people are trying to do at this point.

@Kman20025 oh yes, that's right, they weren't brothers, they were just referred to as brothers, and called brothers and one was called the GOD of thunder and the other one was called the God of mischief or the GOD of tricks because they were clearly sisters, or brother and sister right? They were entities, Supreme beings, gods above mortals who took masculine identities. But perhaps Loki was actually a fish because at one time he presented himself as a salmon, or maybe he was a horse because another time he presented himself as one? Oh teach us oh great sage who knoweth all about the great fables because you have google.
