yep, hopefully he lets it snowball and gives tax welfare to all the rich instead of just some. lets use taxpayer funds to pay off rich peoples debts.

@HandleNameIsStupid yea, we already do that. i just find it ammusing to watch the "tax the rich" crowd turn into the "give tax welfare to the rich" crowd. its amusing.

@acobster actually it is like new spending. its kind of like when Trump tried to use money to build his wall, democrats cried left and right that he had no authority because the money was not allocated for that. and congress held the purse strings and congress had sole authority on where money could be spent. its kind of the same thing here.

steelhound duncan yes yes, help the rich who get stuck in tight situations of their own making, maybe eventually we can use our tax money to help the untra rich who get stuck in tight situations of their own making? perhaps maybe pay off their debts? did you like the bailout of rich bankers during the 08-09 crash? i mean it was to help people get out of tight situations. i can at least understand him canceling the student debt for people who are disabled like he did, since it would probably be very hard if not impossible for them to pay back their student loans. but i cant condone using tax payer money to pay of all student debt. the same way i was opposed to bailing out the rich in the 08-09 crash is the same way i oppose bailing out the rich with this student debt fiasco. college educated people on average earn $30k more per year than their non college educated counterparts, and over a million dollars more over their lifetime. but i guess you are OK with taking away money from someone that makes $50k per year to pay off the debts of someone making $174k per year. in that example its the average median household income compared to AOC's income as a congresswoman since she had college debt. you are a typical republican, always angling to give rich people tax cuts and tax breaks and tax welfare.

@antifazisbonifaz6964 yea yea, education should be free to everyone, including the super rich people who can afford to pay for it right? AOC who makes $174K per year is pushing policies that would make people like you, who make less than her probably, to pay for her personal debt with your taxes. do you think it is fair to tax someone who makes $40k per year to pay for the personal debts of someone who makes $174K per year?

@antifazisbonifaz6964 here is another example of your "free education" for everyone BS. in Chicago, we had several magnet schools open up with taxpayer funds, much better high school education than standard high schools, with more prestige. the majority of the students that went to those schools were kids of affluent and rich and powerful connected people, while the taxpayers got stuck with the bill.

@antifazisbonifaz6964 and there you go with your EU. Funny how you barely skim over the requirement, anyone with enough wits. That's the thing, colleges in the EU are more selective, and if you don't have the wits then you Don get in, no matter how many student loans and grants you accumulate. The only recourse you have is to go to a pri ate college where you pay, akin to a Trump U. Most people in the EU don't qualify to go to a real college, and sometimes there is a waiting list, so alot of them rely on other forms of education such as trade schools, that they pay for out of pocket. But yea, keep pushing for a system where you pay off rich peoples private debts because they are too lazy to pay for them themselves, or better yet, keep pushing for an EU style of system where they make you pay for an education that you will never qualify to receive. Great solution.

@whysocurious7366 well, i figure if you cant beat them, then join them. i find it ironic that the crowd who cheers taxing the rich is now cheering to give welfare taxes to the rich, so i figure why not, if thats what the people want, why should i argue against it. if you want to forgive college debt then who am i to stop it? you want to give tax money to pay off rich peoples debs, then so be it. hopefully this momentum keeps going to the point where housing is eventually recognized as a human right and people push for mortgage forgiveness, then i can collect some welfare tax money.
