  2. I agree with Rich - foreign aid funds are used to a substantial degree as a way to promote our American ideals abroad. But, a new President gets to decide what those ideals are, that will be promoted with our money. Again, I saw, YOU LOST! I know it’s a shock, but you would better serve your constituents if you spent your time trying to identify someone to be the new leader of your party because, otherwise, you are done for the near future.

  5. Rich Lowry makes a great point that people on the right aren’t talking about enough. For example, the funding appropriations that Congress made for USAID are very general and NOT program specific. They mostly leave it to USAID to decide how the money is spent. (And, even when USAID “reports” to Congress about the spending that they have done,it is also done in very vague, general terms.). So, since USAID is an agency of the executive branch of government,the President has the right to determine how the appropriated funds will be spent, so that it is in accordance with that President’s agenda for the country. And certainly the President has the right to “pause” the spending while his representatives sort out what programs should continue to be funded and which should be cancelled. Frankly, I am shocked that ANYONE on the left trusts anything that left wing media has to say anymore - these are the same people that brought you “Biden is as sharp as a tack”.

  6. I also object to America using foreign aid to manipulate or force foreign governments to adopt social policies that we think will make them look more like America. If you are sincerely interested in helping impoverished people around the world, just do that. Help them grow more crops. Help them ensure that they have a means of producing clean drinking water. Help them obtain basic medical care. Things that actually help their survival and can lead to prosperity.
