I haven’t yet come to a decision on my views about women being in line combat in our military. As a basic, I think that there needs to one, high standard that all recruits must meet, regardless of sex. But, apart from that, I wonder if having a woman in a line combat position causes the men in that unit to feel that they have to make special effort to protect that woman, to the degree that it will impair the mission. Also, I am concerned about the sexuality issues that will arise, with a woman in such close quarters with a group of testosterone driven men. Again, it seems that would interfere with the group accomplishing their mission.
