Of course we elect Presidents based on their policies. And, by the way, it is their policies that SHOW you their character. How else can you know what someone’s character is? You look at what they have done, and the tangible things that they say that they will do. You certainly don’t just listen to someone saying “I am a great person” and take that at face value.
