  1. That depends upon your definition of religion.  Hinduism has gods so it would automatically be classified as religion.   Buddhism no god but it does have other attributes including: Doctrine, clergy, scriptures, a place of worship and a organization.

Get a proper education Gervais.  The Jews got the story of the "flood" from the Babylonians who got it from the Sumerians.  It was not one flood but a series of floods on the Tigris-Euphrates rivers.  Read about it on line. There is an excellent video of archaeologists finding a stone with the story of the floods written in cuneiform.  The story is from Sumeria and not Judea or Israel.

The oldest city in the world is the city of Ur built in 3,800 BC.   A stone tablet was found in the ruins dating to almost that time describing the series of floods from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers that would hit the area every few years.  People loaded their belongings and some animals into round boats.  A man in Southern Iraq still builds those boats.  It was not disastrous for the people since sediment was brought down which enriched the farm land.  This is the basis for the Noah story in the Old Testament.  The story was picked up by the Babylonians and then the Jews picked up the story from them.  Sorry Bible readers but the story in the Bible is phony.

The earth is a sphere.  Not a 100% accurate sphere but a sphere none the less.  We know things by digging them up D.  The story of the "flood" was found written in Sumerian cuneiform on a stone found in the ruins of Ur.  Very easy to date due to the vegetation attached to it.  It was not one flood but a series of floods caused by the Tigris -Euphrates river.  The Sumerians had round boats they used to hold their possessions until the flood was over.  The series of floods would bring down sediment to enrich their farmlands.  Those round boats were used on the river for thousands of years and there is still one man in Southern Iraq who builds them.  The Babylonians took the story and then the Jews took the story from the Babylonians.  You do not have to take my word but can see the video on the internet.  The archaeologists attempted to build a round boat 20 feet wide but could not get it to float.  Forget reading some old book and concentrate on educating yourself.
