  1. Sorry you are very wrong. The Uyghur had their own Empire in the region the Chinese claim as Xinjiang. They made a treaty with Chinggis Khaan which did not involve China. Get a better education.

  2. Actually there is another group of Uyghurs. They are not Muslims but still Buddhists.   They follow Tantric vajrayana Buddhism like the Tibetans. They also still used the ancient Uyghur script instead of Arabic. They are referred to as Yellow Uyghurs.  I do not think they have as much trouble with the Chinese government as do the Muslims.
