  6. Gonz I first went to Mexico about 54 years ago and met my future wife. She was slim and trim. Not one of her friends or family were overweight. Cokes only at a dance on the weekends. Snacks were green mangoes with chili. You could also climb the tree for guayabas. Lots of soups Bean soup or chicken. Everyone walked everywhere My wife at 5 feet tall weighed 107 lbs. Then the American lifestyle arrived and destroyed Mexico. Today 70% are overweight and half are obese and 25% of the people have no. 2 diabetes. Drugs have not destroyed Mexico, McDonalds has.

I agree with you.  Mongolians, who are also East Asians, generally are not skinny.  According to my female Mongolian friend, all Mongolian men have big bellies,  ha ha ha.  Their diet in winter is heavy on meat.  They consume very little rice.  They have a larger frame than other East Asians.  That is why they have become the champs in Japanese Sumo.
