  1.  @dammityoutube  It comes down to learning new ways to do old tasks. For close air support the F-35 is not going to be down in the weeds like previous generation aircraft like the A-10. It will fly at medium altitude using superior sensors to detect targets the A-10 couldn't and drop precision munitions like the SDB on them. As far as air superiority, low observability is not always required and in those cases the F-35 will move to beast mode where it will carry plenty of ordinance externally. I do not see that happening though, I see the new F-15EX serving as missile carriers with each aircraft carrying more than 2 dozen missiles and low observable F-35's targeting and firing those missiles all while remaining undetected.

  4. The US just test fired the secret AIM-260 long range air to air missile. It will be in service by 2022.
