  2. Strategic bombardment was NOT a flawed doctrine. It played a major part in impeding the German war machine from producing the tools of war. It broke the will of the people of Germany to resist. Without Strategic bombing the war in Europe would have likely dragged on for several more years, giving the Germans time to develop atomic weapons.

  8. Imagine if they would have upgraded the engines to the GE engines the F-14B got and a modern digital avionics system and fly by wire system. The F-111 could be serving today as one of the most advanced attack aircraft but the Airforce is moronic with their quest for a all stealth airforce.

  13. Having to fire three salvos to be on target is pretty sad. The MK-8 on the Iowa, once it got a firing solution would be expected to hit the target on the first shot.
