  1. Everything I have ever read says the only time the F-16 is more maneuverable than the F-35 is stripped down with a light fuel load. With a actual combat loadout the F-35 can out maneuver the F-16.

  2. In areas you do not need a low observable aircraft, the F-35 is capable of operating in "Beast Mode" using external stores which will allow it to carry nearly as many weapons as the F-15EX Eagle two.

  6. One potentially exciting development of the F-15EX Eagle Two. There is a proposed dedicated Electronic Warfare variant in development. The Airforce had not had any EW aircraft since the retirement of the EF-111 Raven.

  7. Um, the MIG-25 was NEVER designed to be a fighter, it was a high altitude, high speed interceptor designed SPECIFICALLY to counter the XB-70. The MIG-31 is also a high altitude high speed interceptor but with look down/shoot down radar designed to counter B-1B and B52's on low altitude penetration missions. While it is true the F-15 was designed to counter the mythical superfighter that western analysists thought the MIG-25 was going to be. Fighting each other is not in the MIG-25 or 31's mission profile.

  11.  @Rusich945  LOL the mission in Afghanistan and Yugoslavia was not to win. The mission was to do the bare minimum in order to keep the conflict going. In the war for profit racket no money is made by winning. Look at Afghanistan. There was so little actual combat going on over there that statistically it was more dangerous to live in Chicago in those 20 years than it was being deployed to Afghanistan.

  13. I saw the movie and it was MEH at best. It wasn't nearly as good as the original. The scene where they bomb the target was a direct ripoff of Star Wars. Yes it did not have an agenda and there wasn't much wokeness in it which was very refreshing. That said it was just Meh.

Something you didn't touch on is that the BIGGEST difference between the B-21 and the B2 is that the B-21 is built on an open architecture system compared to a closed proprietary system like in the B-2. What does that mean exactly, it means that developing capabilities for this aircraft are going to be open to the entire defense industry, resulting in competition. Competition brings better products for reduced costs. Because it is open architecture, systems can be developed rapidly and injected into the aircraft in very short time periods. You made mention of how an iPhone has more computing power than a B-2, the open architecture system in the B-21 means that newer and faster processors can constantly be deployed, keeping the B-21 current. This breaks the strangle hold a single defense contractor like Northrop can have over a specific weapon system and greatly reduces the costs associated with that system. Also, while unrelated, I predict that the NGAD is going to look like a 2/3 scale version of the B-21 with the emphasis on sensor fusion, payload and range while maneuverability is something barely considered. With the ability of modern missiles for high off bore sight and lock on after launch capability, the day of the dogfight is over. The NGAD I am predicting will carry no less than twenty air-to-air missiles, have a range of at least 4,000 miles and the ability to super cruise at least MACH 1.8 for HOURS. All with a stealth profile better than the F-22, especially against low frequency radars.

  20. This is part of China's asymmetric warfare program. Launching these drones does two things. #1 COST, they are forcing the US Military to spend millions of dollars to down a drone that may cost 10,000 dollars. It is a way to impact our defense budget. #2 Fatigue, these drones are nuisance drones and forcing US Air command to constantly intercept them will lead to mission fatigue and eventually complacency leading to a better chance of sneaking a military target into our airspace.

  23. @ For the Airforce, adding growlers would add a whole new airframe to support logistically and train pilots and maintenance crews for. Having the F-15EX perform that role the logistical footprint is already there.
